Summertime Picnics Abound

With the possibility of good weather during the summer months, we've had plenty of outdoor gatherings to join. Last month found Mr. O, D, J and I at Cottonwood Park on base for a picnic. This time is was for his employer, the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers.

Admission covered the typical hamburgers and hot dogs plus beverages.  Everything else was pot luck style, so you never quite know what to expect.

Mr. O made his favorite bean recipe, this time using ground bear meat he was given by a co-worker.  I’ll admit to not trying it and D decided he didn’t like it at all.  But, we ended up with no leftovers or complaints from others attending.

The day was gorgeous, the chance to visit with the few people I know from his workplace as well as meeting another homeschooler’s husband was nice, and seeing the boys have fun was priceless.

  1. I am so envious of your picnic weather, it seems to rain all the time in Scotland.
